SCEW conducted two paid Train the Trainer programs in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Psychological First Aid and Support Groups in June 2021 These FDPs were attended by professionals around the globe and conducted in the form of 2-day online training programme.
Psychological First Aid is an intensive hands-on workshop that introduces the faculty and staff members to different mental health emergencies that a person may encounter. These could be panic attacks, thoughts of suicide, or extremely distressing emotions which lead to breakdowns and many more. The workshop also trains faculty and staff members to help those in distress to de-escalate and refer them to the appropriate mental health professionals for further support.
An interactive, hands-on workshop designed for faculty and staff members of SIU to understand the different facets of emotional intelligence, how to develop these skills and improve their overall wellbeing!
SCEW hosted Suicide Gatekeeper’s Training on 16th September 2021 at at the SIU convention centre, Lavale hilltop campus, specifically designed for campus admins, hostel wardens and other staff members who tend to be in close contact with students.
Mindfulness Circles were hosted across SIU campuses for staff and faculty members during the pandemic to increase solidarity and connection at a time social distancing was a must! It also gave the staff and faculty members a chance to relax as the stress of the pandemic coupled with the switch to online education was extremely overwhelming.

The workshop was organized in conjunction with Symbiosis Centre for Corporate Education.

A workshop with SLS students to spread awareness about safe sex practices, concepts like consent and debunk myths about sex. Hosted at Symbiosis Law School Pune, Viman Nagar Campus, in January 2020.
Dr. Girija Mahale (Head, SCEW) and her counsellors hosted interactive workshops across SIU campuses with students to tackle to growing substance abuse numbers. The workshop aimed to demystify substance abuse, educate students about the effects and encourage healthier ways to cope with emotional distress.
SCEW conducts a workshop on Dealing with Distress: How to Navigate Grief virtually on August 20, 2022 after Taliban takes over the Afghanistan government. The workshop aimed at providing emotional and psychological assistance to Afghan students still residing in India.
